H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, explained that Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources is preparing and equipping professional trainers from among national human cadres at the departments and entities of Sharjah Government, following the high visions of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, may God preserve him, to invest in human development and focus on humans for being the real wealth, root and maker of development.
This was within the implementation of “Training of Trainers TOT” Programme targeting national employees of various job levels. It is held at the State level as it includes employees from the various entities, institutions and departments of Sharjah Government and several Federal entities. It also includes, for the first time, employees from the Ministry of Education as a first cooperation in the field of training services between the Directorate and the Ministry.
80 employees participate in the programme, divided into 3 groups, and it targets employees who have the ability to enter the world of training and serve their community through training. The programme’s graduates will obtain a Trainer Certificate approved by the American Board and issued by UAE University, in addition to a training licence.
The programme is designed to qualify the participants for training according to the international principles and standards that make them acquire the training knowledge and skills as well as the understanding and implementation of the training plans, develop and upgrade their competencies in order to enable them to offer developmental and educational materials to individuals and groups.
The goal is to engage the creative human potential in community service and human development, and to meet the increasing needs of the various specialised training programmes serving the various community sectors.
The programme tackles the concept of training, describes the stages of training process as well as the means and methodologies to analyse and assess the training needs according to the needs of the individuals or institution, the mechanism of development of training objectives, designing training programmes according to 4MAT concept, mind theory and thinking and its relationship to training, steps of building training package and mechanism of preparation of materials.
It also addresses the types of trainees, how to deal with them, the methods of communicating information, measuring the impact of training, preparing questionnaires and measuring the extent of achievement of results.
As for the importance of such programme, H.H. Dr. Tariq Bin Khadim added: The modern development orientation of human resources in the State requires the empowerment of UAE nationals to acquire the skills that are needed in all work and life sectors of the country. The culture of training is witnessing a qualitative leap and a great expansion at the level of the State, as it forms a development tool and a strategic choice for human investment, which is the first element of development and production.
He added: Accuracy, quality and efficiency in training achieve altogether the potential to develop and enrich the community with useful experience and knowledge.
The importance of training lies in its vital and effective role in developing all the fields and adopting creative ideas. This programme, in turn, contributes to achieving the strategic priority for Sharjah Government in investing in human resources and providing them with the latest knowledge and theories, while establishing a culture of continuous learning.
